IEG is celebrating the remarkable contribution of women to the evaluation practice. Listen to some of them as they share perspectives on gender equality, how they continue to push for progress, and their message to future generations.

Avjeet Singh

Avjeet is a senior evaluation officer and coordinates project level evaluations in sustainable development and infrastructure sectors. She shares her perspective as a woman in the evaluation field and sends a special message for other women – and for men.

Malena Pinglo

Malena is a senior evaluation officer working on financial inclusion, gender, and International Finance Corporation (IFC) platforms evaluations. She is encouraged to see more women evaluators and looks back to the time when she was the only woman at the table.

Feruza Abduazimova

Feruza supports financial and private sector evaluations. She is proud to see a growing number of women coaching and mentoring younger evaluators and encouraging them to continue to build a future for women in this field.

Johanna Janukatys

Johanna designs and coordinates many of IEG’s knowledge management products aimed at bringing evaluation lessons to development practitioners within and outside the World Bank. She is grateful to the women and men who have contributed to women’s advancement in the evaluation field and is excited to see future generations continue to build on that legacy.

Congratulations to colleagues in the IEG. Gender matters everywhere in development. Women evaluators play important roles in ensuring Women and marginalised peoples' faces and voices are included in development evaluation. I join my colleagues in encouraging more younger women to take up evaluation as a specialist thematic issue in development.
