Evaluation: The World Bank Group's Engagement in Morocco 2011-21: Country Program Evaluation 

This Country Program Evaluation (CPE) assesses the development effectiveness of the World Bank Group’s support to Morocco in addressing obstacles to development during fiscal years 2011 to 2021. The evaluation also distills lessons from this assessment to guide future Bank Group engagement in Morocco. The lessons may also be of relevance to other countries facing similar development challenges.

This evaluation offers IEG’s first systematic assessment of the Bank Group’s approaches with Private Capital Mobilization (PCM) and the achievements of development outcomes in engaging with investors and project sponsors. 

Evaluation: State Your Business: An Evaluation of World Bank Group Support to the Reform of State-Owned Enterprises, FY08-18 

This is IEG’s first systematic assessment of World Bank Group’s support for the reform of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), looking at what works and the factors of success. It parallels Bank Group efforts to provide more integrated support to SOE reform in client countries and to empower staff with new tools. 

Evaluation: Evaluation of the World Bank Group’s support for electricity supply from renewable energy resources, 2000-17 

This evaluation offers the Independent Evaluation Group’s first systematic assessment of the World Bank Group’s support for renewable energy.Renewable energy has a critical role in the Clean Energy Transition, the pathway for decarbonizing global energy essential to foster inclusive and sustainable growth while addressing climate change. 

Evaluation:The World Bank Group Outcome Orientation at the Country Level (2020) 

This learning-focused evaluation provides a new vision of how to strengthen the Bank Group's outcome orientation in countries.The report makes concrete proposals on how to rethink the country-level results systems, its tool kit; the accountability principles that underlies the system; and the incentives for staff to learn from experience and prioritize development results.

This evaluation assesses how effectively the World Bank Group has mainstreamed citizen engagement at the project, country, and corporate levels, and demonstrates how this process contributes to the achievement of development outcomes.  

Evaluation: A Thirst for Change: An Evaluation of the World Bank Group’s Support for Water Supply and Sanitation with Focus on the Poor 

This evaluation assesses the World Bank Group’s effectiveness in supporting improved access to adequate, reliable, and sustained water and sanitation services in client countries. It also examines how well the Bank Group is equipped to support the countries in moving toward sustained water and sanitation services for all, with a focus on the poor, in keeping with Sustainable Development Goal 6.
