Nina Rinnerberger is an experienced international development practitioner with expertise in natural resource management and climate change. Before joining the Independent Evaluation Group in 2023, Nina worked in the World Bank Climate Change Group, where she led the institution’s corporate climate finance tracking unit and advised project teams across sectors and regions on effectively integrating climate change considerations into development project design. Nina started her career at the World Bank in 2010, as part of the Global Practice for Environment, Natural Resources & Blue Economy, initially in the Europe and Central Asia Region, and later in the Latin America and the Caribbean Region. She directly engaged with clients on project development and implementation, covering a range of topics, including forest law enforcement and governance, sustainable forest management, climate adaptation and mitigation, as well as environmental safeguards.

She brings prior experience in the government and non-profit sectors advancing climate change solutions.

Nina holds an M.A. in Global Environmental Policy from American University’s School of International Service in Washington DC.
