Midori Makino is the Manager for Sustainable Development at the Independent Evaluation Group of the World Bank. She has previously been the thematic coordinator for evaluations in infrastructure sectors. Before joining IEG in 2010, she worked in Africa Region's Urban and Water Unit and South Asia Region's Energy and Infrastructure Unit where she managed projects and analytic and advisory activities across infrastructure sectors including water, urban, energy, and transport. Her areas of expertise include infrastructure finance, policy, and institutional reforms. She holds an MBA from MIT and Master of Science in Economics from Stockholm School of Economics.
