Rashmi Shankar is a Lead Economist with IEG’s Economic Management and Country Programs Unit. She led IEG's evaluation World Bank Support to Jobs and Labor Market Reform through International Development Association Financing and Early-Stage Evaluation of the Multiphase Programmatic Approach.

Before joining IEG, Ms. Shankar was in World Bank operations for sixteen years, first as a country economist and then in various leadership positions. Her experience spans multiple World Bank Regions and Global Practices. Before coming to the World Bank, Ms. Shankar was in academia. A a US national, Rashmi holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
