. In assessing a decade's worth of World Bank support, IEG identified key enabling factors driving successful programs and highlighted the critical role of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems in achieving transformational results. IEG also assessed the World Bank’s support for gender equality in fragile and conflict-affected situations, emphasizing the need for strong M&E to help the World Bank identify, learn from, and prioritize its most impactful interventions.

In this session, IEG will share methodological insights and lessons from participatory processes conducted to capture information from local communities and beneficiaries. As the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) have also completed evaluations on gender equality, IEG will convene evaluators from these multilateral development banks (MDBs) to share and discuss common methods, innovations, and findings. This session will be valuable for both evaluators and practitioners, offering insights on how to construct a robust body of evaluation evidence, as well as lessons on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks and their development impact.
