A commitment to amplify the impact of evaluative evidence towards better development outcomes guided our efforts again in fiscal year 2025.

IEG hosted and cohosted more than 23 learning events, reaching over 1,000 Bank Group operations staff and management across Regions and Verticals, and embedded evaluation findings directly into operational learning to inform project design and implementation.

The FY25 work program centered on the Bank Group’s long-term strategic priorities, spanning Planet, People, Prosperity, Infrastructure, and Digital Transformation, with crosscutting streams on gender; fragility, conflict, and violence; climate; and private capital.

IEG also continued to play an important role in the global evaluation community and advanced evaluation capacity development in client countries, contributing to methodological innovations and national monitoring and evaluation systems, and supporting evidence-based policymaking.

As IEG looks to the future, it will continue to push the boundaries of evaluation practice—leveraging new technologies, deepening engagement and maintaining independence and rigor.
